Test Process Assessment and Improvement
Determine inefficient areas of software testing, provide recommendations and drive process improvements.
Nicman consultants were engaged to asses current software testing process and define testing improvements in seven areas such as: test automation, performance testing, test management, test metrics, test planning, test strategy and defect tracking. An assessment was performed through a process of interviews and review of existing artifacts, which ranked the organization within each area against industry standards. Through collaboration process improvement goals with detailed milestones and expectations were established. The team worked with client counterparts to document, implement and drive process enhancements within each of the seven testing areas.
Testing result of transformation was a more efficient and agile testing organization with established and measurable entry/exit criteria at different points of software development life cycle hand off. Each of the testing ears have gotten a thorough overall that yielded more comprehensive assessment of system performance, higher testing coverage, quicker automation and better release planning. An organization started making more informative decisions based on collected and circulated metrics.
